You’ve Got Layers

Nowadays especially, so many scary pollutants come into contact with your face, causing a buildup of dead skin cells and accelerating signs of aging. Your skin resists buildup with cell turnover, but that slows down as you get older. Fortunately, there’s a solution to that, and no, it’s not as scary as you’ve seen on TV!

Shot Bar carries the AlumierMD line of peels, including a salicylic acid peel in Lincoln Park. Get a smoother, radiant complexion with much less downtime than you’ve been led to believe. Your skin will thank you for the boost!

Why We Love Them

Less Downtime

These peels have less downtime than other moderate-depth peels. Redness and peeling stop within 3 to 5 days!

Adjustable

Depending on the severity of your skin concerns, we can adjust the strength of the peel to suit your needs.

For Everyone

If you’re looking for a solution for acne, scarring, fine lines and wrinkles, or pigmentation—these peels can work magic!

Types of Peels

For The Science Babes

Radiant 30

This peel contains 30% lactic acid, which is an alpha hydroxy acid or AHA, and is used to treat fine lines, wrinkles, discoloration, sun damage and visible pores.

Radiant 20/10

W20% lactic acid (an AHA) and 10% salicylic acid (a BHA) work together in this peel to promote skin cell renewal, exfoliate, and strengthen skin, while also working to control acne.

AHA Duo Pro

A combination of two alpha hydroxy acids, 20% lactic acid and 10% glycolic acid, make up this peel that reduces hyperpigmentation, and improves the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

BHA 20

This is our 20% salicylic acid peel in Lincoln Park, which makes it a great choice for oily or acne-prone skin.

Glow Peel

The Glow Peel uses a formula applied to the skin to lower the pH, loosening dead skin cells, exfoliating, and stimulating new cell growth. This is Shot Bar’s 7% lactic acid, 7% resorcinol, and 7% salicylic acid peel.

Power Glow

The Power Glow Peel contains double the formulation of our Glow Peel to 14% to enhance its effect for an even brighter glow!

Vitamin A Boost

This high-potency peel contains 1% retinol, 2% retinyl palmitate, two powerful vitamin A derivatives in addition to 22% lactic acid. It’s a powerhouse of ingredients for evening the complexion, treating hyperpigmentation, improving fine lines and wrinkles, and unclogging pores.

Detox Clear

This peel is fantastic for acne and clogged pores as it has 4% hydrogen peroxide, .5% salicylic acid, 6% lactic acid which kill bacteria, exfoliate, and promote skin renewal. Sea whip extract and niacinamide work in tandem in this peel, providing anti-irritant and moisturizing properties.

The Play-by-Play

The AlumierMD Peel Process

Step 1

Consultation

Not sure what to get? Come to Shot Bar for your consultation! You’ll become a Shot Bar Hotshot the minute you do. You’ll tell us about your health history and skin concerns. We will develop a treatment plan based on your individual skin type and desired results. If required, we might recommend a combination of treatments.

Step 2

Treatment

Before your salicylic acid peel in Lincoln Park, we ask that you avoid skincare products with active ingredients such as benzoyl peroxide and AHAs. Our AlumierMD Peels take 30 minutes to let the solution absorb into your skin, and you may need up to 3 to 6 sessions depending on your goals and the severity of your skin issues.

Step 3

Aftercare

After an AlumierMD Peel treatment, your skin will begin to renew itself. This causes some sun sensitivity, redness, and peeling for 3 to 5 days (we’ll recommend a skincare regimen). After that, your new skin will feel tight and warm and may be temporarily lighter or darker. Full results of this peel usually appear 2 weeks after downtime.
