How is Sofwave different from other procedures?

Today, there are various energy based technologies designed to treat facial lines and wrinkles, among them: ablative and non ablative laser technology. These include Intense Pulsed Light (IPL), Radiofrequency devices (RF), microneedling, and High Intensity Focused Ultrasound (HIFU). Sofwave uses ultrasound technology and unlike many other treatments, is non invasive. 

What does collagen do and how does Sofwave stimulate new growth?

Collagen is a natural protein that gives skin its youthfulness by keeping it toned. As we age, collagen breaks down, and the result is sagging skin. When the mid dermis is treated with Sofwave, it creates NEW collagen and increases what you already have. This process is called neo collagenesis.

How long does it take to see results?

Patients see results immediately and regeneration of collagen can take up to 12 weeks. Ongoing improvements will continue for about three months.

Is there any pain with this treatment?

You will be provided with a topical numbing agent before your treatment. You may feel some warmness of the skin. But there are no painful sensations and no need to apply any special after care once your session is completed. 

How is Sofwave different from Ultherapy?

Sofwave and Ultherapy both use ultrasound energy to penetrate lower dermal tissue and boost collagen production. Ultherapy has small needles applied to skin, while Sofwave delivers ultrasound energy with non invasive applicator. Ultherapy is known to be quite painful and has some recovery time. Sofwave is gentler with natural and profoundly noticeable improvements.

How many treatments will I need?

Most patients only need one treatment, while others may benefit with an additional session. The number of treatments depends how much skin laxity you have and how you respond to Sofwave the first time.
