How effective is Tixel really?

How does Tixel work?
Tixel uses a small heated titanium plate with 81 tiny pyramids. The plate is passed over the skin on mostly any area of the body. Tixel delivers short bursts (milliseconds) of thermal heat (400 degrees Celsius, similar to the heat of many laser treatments).
What can I expect?
Most patients choose to have a topical numbing agent applied upon arrival to Shot Bar when undergoing a Tixel treatment. Each treatment for the face will take on average around 20 minutes once the numbing agent has taken full effect. Tixel is much less painful than a CO2 laser.
How many Tixel treatments will I need?
For best results, the recommended treatment is a course of three to six sessions spaced four to six weeks apart, with one treatment every six to 12 months thereafter. Open channel treatments can be performed every two to four weeks.
What are Tixel side effects and downtime?
Your skin may feel tight, warm, and slightly sensitive, as if you spent the day in the sun. It is possible to have very mild swelling and redness 24-72 hours post treatment, especially around the eyes.
