We apply a thin layer of Korean carbon to the skin, allowing it to settle into pores and bind to surface oil, dead skin cells, and debris. Then the Lutronic laser gets to work. As the laser energy interacts with the carbon, it creates that signature snap, crackle, pop while lifting away the carbon along with the buildup attached to it. The process provides an immediate exfoliating and pore-cleansing effect while the laser energy simultaneously targets excess oil, helps improve active acne, and stimulates the skin for a smoother, brighter, more refined appearance.

Get comfortable—this is the easy part. For our Korean Laser Facial, we start by prepping your skin and applying a thin layer of our Korean-made carbon lotion. The carbon settles onto the skin and into the pores, grabbing onto excess oil, dead skin cells, and all the little things we’d rather not have hanging around.

Then comes the fun part. Using the Lutronic Hollywood Spectra, we pass the laser over the carbon, creating that signature little snap, crackle, pop as the laser interacts with it. You may feel a light warmth or mild tingling, but most of our Hotshots find the treatment incredibly easy and comfortable.

As the carbon is lifted away, the laser is simultaneously helping to deeply cleanse the pores, exfoliate dull surface skin, target excess oil and active acne, improve uneven tone and texture, and stimulate collagen.

The whole thing is quick, satisfying, and requires essentially no downtime. You walk in with regular skin and walk out looking suspiciously filtered.

The Spectra is a Q-switched Nd:YAG laser, and its party trick is that it speaks two wavelengths — which means it can go shallow or deep depending on what your skin is actually asking for:

• 532 nm — the surface worker. Targets pigment that lives near the surface: sun spots, freckles, that one spot from the summer you didn’t wear sunscreen. (We’ve all had that summer.)
• 1064 nm — the deep worker. Reaches pigment that sits deeper — the stubborn stuff, including melasma — and it’s the wavelength we use for toning and resurfacing work. It’s also the wavelength generally considered the safer choice for deeper skin tones, because it does its work below the surface instead of picking a fight with it.
